TRUHAVEN'S CAVALIER CD
The kennel name Islehaven
pays tribute to both the Truhaven Borzoi foundation stock
and the idyllic island setting which our kennel calls home.
Islehaven Borzoi began with the arrival of our foundation
bitch Truhaven's My Fair Lady CD as a 12 week old puppy in
1990. Acquired from Dottie Trulock of Truhaven Borzoi in
California, "Pippa was a lovely red sable spotted girlof
goof substance. She handily earned her CD, but was only
occasionally (and admittedly ineptly) shown in Conformation
before her one and only litter. Shortly after this litter,
sired by Ch Morozova Stillwater Massai ROM, Pippa died as a
result of a surgical mishap. Her legacy continues, however,
here at Islehaven as well as at Truhaven and other kennels
on the West Coast.
The breeding of Truhaven's My Fair Lady CD to Massai
blended the English lines of Karistan with the Eng/Am lines
of Stillwater Borzoi to produce the "Fred Astaire Movies"
litter in 1995, whose most notable products were MBISS Ch
Truhaven's Midas Run (AOM and Best male Veteran at the 2006
BCOA National Specialty at nearly 11 years old), Ch
Truhaven's Silk Stockings (dam of two champion producing
litters) and Ch Truhaven's Isle of Blue Skies JC, Dowager
Princess here at Islehaven.
Our goal at Islehaven is to breed borzoi that are beautiful
and sound in both body and temperament -- companion dogs
who can also show and compete in various performance venues
as well as grace couches and serve as yard ornaments.
