The kennel name Islehaven pays tribute to both the Truhaven Borzoi foundation stock and the idyllic island setting which our kennel calls home. Recent years have seen the addition of dogs from both Coburn and Zabava & Ostrov Kennels which have contributed greatly to our breeding program.

Our goal at Islehaven is to breed borzoi that are beautiful and sound in both body and temperament -- companion dogs who can also show and compete in various performance venues, as well as grace couches and serve as yard ornaments. When all is said and done, however, while one may compete to varying degrees (from weekly to once in a blue moon), we LIVE with our borzoi daily -- so those elements that contribute to long lived, healthy, mentally and physically sound companions are our priority. Of course we look at them all the time as well... so pretty helps!
